Headset bearings, by bike model
Which headset bearing does this bike take?
Pick the bike and get the bearings, upper and lower: outer diameter, inner diameter, height and both contact angles. No stripping the front end to measure, no ordering two to be safe.
In development · road and time-trial bikes, 2016–2026Why the size is not enough
Two real headset bearings. Same outer diameter, same inner diameter, same height. A caliper cannot tell them apart.
The only difference is the angle where the bearing meets the fork's crown race. Order by size alone and it is a coin toss. whichbearing tells you which one the bike was built for.
How every answer is checked
Bike makers rarely publish their bearings, and kit sellers often disagree. So nothing goes in on one say-so.
Two sources for every number
Each size and each angle is confirmed by two independent sources, and at least one of them is the bike maker or the bearing maker.
One answer, or none
If we cannot prove it, the bike is not listed. You will never get a "probably".
Works offline
One file that runs on a laptop, tablet or phone in the workshop, with no internet.
Built by a mechanic
whichbearing is built by Akshay Pootheri, a professional bicycle mechanic with seven years in the workshop, mostly road and time-trial bikes. It started with the question every shop asks when a headset feels rough: which bearing is in there?
Brands in the finder so far
Bikes from these brands already have proven answers. Not every model yet - more are added as each one is checked.
Brand names are shown only to say whose bikes the finder covers. whichbearing is independent and is not connected to, or approved by, any of these brands.
